Dan was born in Cheraw, SC. He played college baseball at Coker College (Hartsville, SC), and Catawba College (Salisbury, NC). He graduated from Catawba College in 2002 with a major in Recreation and a minor in Coaching.

His former jobs before serving at Locust: Football coach at Catawba College, Teacher and coach at Hugh Cummings High, Center Supervisor at Alamance County Parks & Recreation Center, Athletic Director at Graham Recreation & Parks, and Involvement Coordinator at River Mill Academy K-12 Charter School.

Dan is currently responsible for city programs, maintaining shelters & parks, special events, athletic programs, summer camp, before & after school program, field rentals, park rentals, shelter/building rentals, and marketing. Dan has been with the city of Locust since July 1, 2008.
